Terminology

Carry forward |
A metric or a milestone that you want to advance to a new performance period (something you've already been working on but want to measure moving forward, either stating new , or carrying it forward from where it was when the last performance period ended). |
Check-In |
A status update. Usually a statement of your recent accomplishments, it often includes updating a unit of measurement indicating your progress on one or more key results associated with your check-in. |
Follow |
Follow an objective or person. Considered an Inspire Best Practice.

Milestone |
An event, task, or set of tasks you want to achieve by a certain date.-- |
Monitor |
Monitor an objective. Sometimes referred to as fly-on-the-wall.

Personal |
Objective perspective attribute. A personal growth-oriented objective. |
Private |
Objective sharing attribute. Sharing is Private, between you and your manager. |
Professional |
Objective perspective attribute. A professional-oriented objective. |
Public |
Objective sharing attribute. Sharing is Public; fully transparent to everyone in the company. |
Shared Key Result |
Shared Key Result is allowed if you have more than one contributor on a Key Result. If you choose Shared vs. Individual- All contributors have the ability to update progress. The most recent update will override the progress. |
Widget |
Used to customize a Dashboard or a Home Screen, a widget is an "at-a-glance" view of useful data. |
