# Automated User Management with your HRIS (Admin Only)

Process: Customer generates a user report from Human Resources Information System (HRIS), uploads to an SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) location - Inspire automatically imports the data. This can be done on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. 

- The file format should be a standard CSV file saved in CSV UTF-8 format.
- Once we have tested the process, we will connect to your live instance and provide instructions on how to access the SFTP.
- Please note the specific spelling and casing of the import fields below. The columns provided need to match these names exactly. If these names are not possible based on your HRIS system, we can work with you to create a custom mapping separately.

| ExternalPersonKey | Required | A unique ID for the person. Consider using the unique identifier from your system of record |
| HireDate | Optional | If not provided, will default the initial import date |
| EmailAddress | See Note | Only UserName or EmailAddress are required. Only use both if email is different than UserName |
| UserName | See Note | Only UserName or EmailAddress are required. Only use both if email is different than UserName |
| FirstName | Required |  |
| MiddleName | Optional |  |
| LastName | Required |  |
| BusinessUnit | Optional |  |
| Region | Optional |  |
| Location | Optional |  |
| Project | Optional |  |
| Department | Optional |  |
| Phone | Optional |  |
| EmploymentRole | Optional |  |
| ExternalSupervisorPersonKey | See Note | Required for setting supervisor relationships. Must match the ExternalPersonKey of the person's supervisor. |
| SupervisorAsOfDate | Optional | If not provided, will default the initial import date |
| OlsonTimeZoneId | Optional | If not included it will default to Pacific time zone and will have to be updated manually. Example “Pacific Standard Time” |
