FAQ: Tasks vs. Activities in Inspire?

The distinction between tasks and activities is explained below. Knowing the difference will help in progressing your Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) forward.

  • Tasks: These are specific, actionable items that can be accomplished within a day or two. Tasks are usually clear and concise, focusing on individual steps or actions needed to progress towards a goal. They are the building blocks of larger projects, allowing for incremental progress and quick wins.

  • Activities: These encompass broader and more complex items that require a more extended period to complete, often ranging from a week to a month. Activities are composed of multiple tasks and represent significant milestones or phases within a project. They require careful planning and coordination, as they involve a higher level of effort and resource allocation.

By distinguishing between tasks and activities, Inspire Software helps users manage their workload more efficiently, ensuring that both immediate and long-term objectives are addressed systematically.
