Configuration/filter rules for strategy widget
Understand when filter changes persist or reset based on widget type and user permissions.
The Strategy Timeline Widget in Dashboards now includes improved logic for filter behavior. Depending on the type of widget and your user role, filter changes can either persist or reset after a page refresh.
Widget Type | User Role | Do Filter Changes Persist? |
---|---|---|
Individual Widget | Any user | ✅ Yes |
Company Widget | Dashboard Admin | ✅ Yes |
Company Widget | Non-admin user | ❌ No – filters reset on refresh |
This update:
-
Allows individual users to maintain personal views on their own widgets.
-
Empowers dashboard admins to configure shared company views without losing settings.
-
Ensures non-admins see a consistent default view on shared widgets.
Example Scenarios
-
✔️ Filters Persist:
You update filters on your personal dashboard – your settings are saved. -
✔️ Filters Persist (Admin):
You’re a dashboard admin and adjust filters on a company widget – your changes stay. -
🔁 Filters Reset (Non-admin):
You change filters on a company widget but don’t have admin rights – changes reset after refresh.
If you're unsure whether a widget is individual or company-level, or if you have dashboard admin permissions, reach out to your Inspire administrator or contact support@inspiresoftware.com.
