Changing Objective Visibility

You can change the visibility of your objective so that it is visible only to you, to you and your supervisor, or to everyone. If you use Microsoft Outlook, you can also mark tasks as private in Microsoft Outlook from Inspire.

Your objective visibility is controlled by two components: Perspective and Sharing. These settings dictate who can view your objective and where your objective can be viewed.

Note: The labeling and images depicted in this article may differ from your version of Inspire.

To change objective visibility

1. On the top toolbar, click the Module  button and select Objectives.

2. Select an objective or create a new Objective - see Adding a New Objective.

3. Click the Options drop-down and select the Attributes attributes link.

4. Select a Perspective/Sharing setting from the list. You can select from the following:

        • Professional and Public: The objective is visible to all users and status updates are posted to the newsfeed.  This is the default for most companies unless your admin has changed this in the administrator module.
        • Professional and Private: The objective is only visible to your supervisor in your 1-1 and status updates are not posted to the newsfeed.
        • Personal and Public: The objective is visible in your public profile but does not display in your 1-1.  Status updates post to the newsfeed.  An example objective for this type could be to accomplish an event such as a 5k fun run that you are participating with other employees and want your progress to be visible to each other.  The administrator at your organization has the ability to disable personal objectives so contact them if this setting is not available.
        • Personal and Private: The objective is only visible to you and do not post to the newsfeed.  The administrator at your organization has the ability to disable personal objectives so contact them if this setting is not available.

Note: Depending on your Company Settings, you may only be able to set the Perspective to Professional.

6. Click the Close button in the Attributes window.

7. On the Objectives page, click the Save button to apply your changes.
