# How to Install the Inspire Plugin for Claude

## Connect Inspire to Claude so your strategy, objectives, and check-ins travel with you into the tools you already use. Once the plugin is installed, you can ask Claude about your Inspire goals and take action without leaving your Claude workspace.

The Inspire plugin works across Claude Chat, Cowork, and Claude Code, so you only have to set it up once. 

### Before You Start

You will need the **Claude desktop app** installed on your computer. If you do not have it yet, you can download it from [https://claude.ai/download](https://claude.ai/download).

The plugin connects using your existing Inspire account, so have your Inspire sign-in ready. There is nothing to purchase or configure ahead of time.

Inspire for Claude currently supports Microsoft Entra ID sign-in only. You must sign in with your organization’s Microsoft work account.

### Install the Plugin (Claude desktop app)

This is the recommended path for most users.

1\. Open the Claude desktop app and go to **Settings**.

2\. Select **Customize**, then **Plugins**.

3\. Click **Add**, then **Add** **Marketplace**.

4\. When prompted, enter the Inspire marketplace repository:\`github.com/Inspire-Software-Solutions/claude-marketplace\`

5\. Claude will ask you to trust the source. Confirm to continue, then click **Sync**.

6\. Find the **Inspire** plugin in the list and click **Install**.

That's it. The plugin installs two connectors, **inspire** and **inspire-actions**, which together let Claude read your Inspire data and take actions on your behalf.

#### Alternative: install via the command line (Claude Code)

If you use Claude Code and prefer to install from the command line, you can add the marketplace and install the plugin from your terminal instead:

**First run:**

claude plugin marketplace add Inspire-Software-Solutions/claude-marketplace

**Then run:**

claude plugin install inspire@inspire-plugins

### Connect your Inspire account

The first time you use the plugin, Claude will prompt you to sign in to Inspire. This is a one-time step. Sign in with your usual Inspire credentials and follow the on-screen steps to authorize the connection.

The connection needs to be renewed periodically. When the connectors show as disconnected, go to Settings \> Customize \> Plugins and reconnect.

### Verify your setup

To confirm everything is working:

1\. Go back to **Settings** \> **Customize** \> **Plugins**.  
2\. Open the Inspire plugin and check that both connectors, **inspire** and **inspire-actions**, show as **Connected**.

Once both are connected, you are ready to go. Try asking Claude something like, "What are my current objectives in Inspire?"

### Getting updates

We improve the plugin regularly, so it's worth checking for updates now and then.

1\. Go to **Settings** \> **Customize** \> **Plugins**.  
2\. Find the Inspire marketplace in your list.  
3\. Click **Update** to pull the latest version.
